This program is designed to help young children learn to be away from their parents, spend time with peers, take directions from another adult and follow one-step directions. We encourage children to take part in their classroom community by participating in group activities such as circle time, music or hand games. We help children to play with blocks, build and knock down towers. Our teachers will help children begin to explore puzzles, shapes and colors. Teachers integrate elements of sign language during our daily routines to help communicate with all children.
*Please note that we do not provide a morning nap. If families participate in our Extended Day option, children will be provided with a nap (or rest time) on a cot in the afternoon after lunch.
The Pandas Bears

Program: In our older toddler classroom, students begin to learn how to participate as a group and share with peers. Children at this age are becoming more independent, and will be encouraged to explore their individual interests. We will also encourage our Panda students to try completing simple tasks independently, such as a matching game or a puzzle. We help children in this class to begin to follow rules of the classroom as they learn that rules can be different in different environments. We begin to present children with 2 to 3 step directions, for example go to the art table and find a blue crayon. Teachers encourage students to play with their peers and coach children through problem solving social challenges.

She will coach the students for a few days as they use the center, and then it will be expected that students can follow the directions at that center moving forward. These students will also begin to work on improving their attention to task based activities, literacy and language skills. Teachers will encourage children to play make believe though dramatic play, role playing and outdoor games. Our teachers will always take time to stop and answer all the "why" questions that our three year olds love to ask!
